Role: Collective Voice & Action Worker
Reporting to: Collective Voice & Action Lead
Location: Flexible / Hybrid with travel across Scotland
Contract: Fixed term until March 31st 2024 (extension subject to funding)
Hours of Work: Full time - 4 days a week (28 hours)
Salary: £25,000
Our vision is for a fairer Scotland for all self-identifying young women and girls. A Scotland where young women are meaningfully heard, valued and supported to lead collective action and enact transformational change throughout society, systems and structures.
To help us achieve this, the Collective Voice & Action Worker role will:
Ambitiously extend our reach to even more young women and girls through a range of system changing campaigns and programmes that are co-designed for and by young women.
Create safe spaces for young women to engage, connect and build networks and skills that mobilise collective action.
Supporting the delivery of the YWM’s collective voice and action opportunities for young women and girls.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation of a co-designed voice and participation framework to ensure young women and girl's voices are at the heart of everything we do by participating, co-designing and leading.
Support the delivery of our collective voice and action activity e.g. Young Women Lead to create radical system change across Scotland.
Work with young women and girls on our programmes and signpost them to opportunities for their continued engagement both within our movement and in communities/wider society.
Assist the Collective Voice & Action Coordinator with support to our advisory collective of young women, ensuring a participatory approach.
Undertake administrative tasks to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of our learning & engagement programmes.
Create safe, sustainable spaces with and for young women.

How you'll help to create a fairer Scotland for young women and girls:
Co-design innovative resources, campaigns and tools with and for young women and girls enabling them to meaningfully engage in YWM’s decision making and future direction.
Unlock the potential of young women and girls through the facilitation of our collective voice and action programmes.
Support the Collective Voice & Action Coordinator with the recruitment of participants onto our programmes and voice opportunities.
Support the delivery of co-designed feminist leadership and system change programmes with and for young women.
Ensure health and safety, data protection and safeguarding policies and procedures are maintained and adhered to at all times.
Work with the team across YWM to ensure a collaborative approach to delivering impactful outcomes that challenge the status quo.
Committing to an intersectional approach and breaking down the barriers to young women and girls participation, ensuring our spaces and programmes are accessible and inclusive to all.
Assisting the Collective Voice & Action Coordinator with support to our volunteers/Advisory Panel.
Supporting the Collective Voice & Action Coordinator with the registration of new participants, their attendance and progress using agreed tools and procedures
Complying with YWM’s engagement procedures and practice including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Data Protection.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, and where appropriate supporting colleagues in other teams, to collectively deliver the realisation of our strategic vision.
Undertake any other duties that may arise.
Let’s talk about you - you will already have or be working towards:
Experience of working with young women, girls and other marginalised genders using a youth work and intersectional feminist approach.
Passionate about enabling change for young women and girls through a range of learning interventions and programmes.
Experience of creating safe and accessible spaces for work with young women, girls and other marginalised genders.
Good understanding and knowledge of youth participation / systems change and/or collective action principles.
Experience working with and supporting a diverse range of young women and girls to share their voices and experiences to create change.
Experience of developing co-designed campaigns with and for young women and girls using a variety of creative and digital tools.
Ability to evaluate projects meaningfully and effectively for maximum impact.
Strong time management and organisational skills
Strong IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel, Canva, Adobe Photoshop etc.
Experience of using social media platforms for awareness raising and system-changing campaigns.
A flexible and adaptable approach
Willingness to work flexibly and travel across Scotland when necessary.
A full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle would be desirable but not essential.
Commitment to own continuing professional development.
